How does internalized homophobia affect GBTQ+ men’s connection and loneliness?

This panel discussion explores how shame, fear, and identity suppression manifest differently among gay, bi, trans, and queer men across social, sexual, and romantic experiences. We invite honest reflection on how internalized homophobia shapes beliefs, behaviors, and community divides, and how empathy, self-acceptance, and open dialogue can help bridge the rifts within the GBTQ+ experience.

The conversation will be moderated by Sean Harvey, author of Warrior Compassion: Unleashing the Healing Power of Men, whose work explores the intersection of men’s healing, masculinity, and belonging through the lens of authenticity, purpose, and connection.

Moderator: Sean Harvey, Fellow at American University, author and founder of first LGBTQ Youth Group in Dayton, OH at age 16.
