Introduction

Hello! My name is Tama and I’m so happy you are here. As a Queer, non-binary educator, therapist, partner, and parent, I know first-hand the challenges of growing up and raising kids in a society often hostile to the LGBTQIA+ community. My own experience of therapy has been transformative and I see my work as a chance to pay it forward. It is my lifelong mission to support myself and others to heal, to understand, and embrace who they are - and to thrive even in the face of adversity.

What it’s like to see me as a therapist

In therapy, I will always start by getting to know you. My goal is to cultivate trust that will allow you to feel safe to bring all of yourself to our sessions. I bring a shame-free, humanistic, intersectional approach to therapy. I believe that you are inherently good and whole. The tools and practices I offer are meant to uplift what is already inside of you and to assist you to live with greater authenticity, joy, and ease. I will meet you where you are and we will walk this path together.

About Me

I love birding, rocks, and tinkering in my workshop. I spend time outdoors with my family and dog, cooking for friends, and traveling to the people and places most special to me. I love a good folk or pop album, I play guitar to relax, and I will never turn down an invitation to make memories with the people I love. I live with my wife and two beautiful kids in Phoenixville.

Education

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College. I spent the next decade working inside public education and school adjacent programs driven by my passion for being in community with young people and our planet. Wanting to deepen my impact, I completed a graduate degree at West Chester University in 2022 earning my Master’s of Education in School Counseling as well as the coursework for a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am currently completing my hours for licensure for professional counseling. My graduate studies focused on the impact of identity and community-based trauma on long-term outcomes, particularly for BIPOC and queer youth.

Ages

I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I especially appreciate working with parents alongside their children.
