Clinical Supervisor and Gender Counselor: Outpatient Therapy with Transgender Clients

About the Practice

Join a small group practice that values purpose, flexibility, independence, community, and ongoing supervision. We primarily support transgender, nonbinary, and lesbian, gay, and bisexual clients.

About the Role

This is a hybrid position with two parts: Clinical Supervisor and therapist with a caseload. Hours in each part will vary. Pay combines a flat monthly rate for supervision, a fee split for client sessions, and an hourly rate for supervision sessions.

Arrive Therapy seeks a therapist and clinical supervisor who cares about the transgender community and shares our vision of a safe, welcoming space for transgender and LGBTQ+ people. We offer a nonjudgmental space where each client can find their own genuine path.

If you have supervisory leadership experience and work with trans clients, this role is for you. If you are trans, nonbinary, gender expansive, queer, bisexual, gay, or lesbian, we invite you to bring your lived experience into your work with clients.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in counseling, psychology, social work, or an equivalent field

• Full licensure (LCSW or LPC)

• Experience working with transgender, nonbinary, and queer or LGB clients

• At least 1 year of prior leadership or supervision experience

• Two to three additional years of leadership or supervision experience preferred

• Experience or training working with teens and families

• Ability to work in person at the Paoli office and remotely from a home office

• Experience leading support groups and doing individual therapeutic work

• This position is not open to pre-licensed or unlicensed counselors.

Administrative Skills

• Email: respond promptly, keep correspondence professional, and manage administrative communication well

• Attention to detail: keep records accurate and compliant with standards

• Google Workspace: create and collaborate on Google Docs

• JaneApp (EHR): use the system for clinical documentation, billing, scheduling, and reporting. Experience with a similar EHR is acceptable, and training is provided.

• Zoom: run virtual meetings and client sessions, and troubleshoot basic technical problems

• Learning agility: learn new software and tools quickly as needs change

• Data organization: keep digital files orderly, store confidential information properly, and make records easy to retrieve

Managing Therapists

• Annual reviews: document staff development, identify training needs, and assess overall performance

• Compliance: make sure staff meet contract terms and organizational policies

• Communication: give clear direction and feedback, and keep communication transparent

• Scheduling: allocate caseloads, manage time-off requests, and use resources well

• Performance issues: address concerns, implement corrective action plans, and keep compliance records

• Professional development: identify skill gaps, recommend or arrange continuing education, and support licensure requirements

• Conflict resolution: mediate interpersonal issues and address workplace concerns

• Onboarding: train new clinical staff
