About Me

Hi! My name's Evan (he/him). Outside of the office, I'm a nerd! I like playing D&D, watching streamers on Twitch, playing cozy video games, and cross-stitching.

As a transgender and queer person, I want to embody the idea that queer doesn't have one defined "look." Given my various identities as a disabled queer person of color, I can empathize with anyone who feels "othered." Through a person-centered lens, I guide my clients in becoming their most authentic selves. I help clients write the story of their lives where they shape their main character energy to propel them into a future they thrive in."

Why I Am A Therapist

I'm the therapist that I needed when I was younger. Growing up, I didn't have the language for the things I was feeling and thinking. I went through life feeling broken and wrong. I want to help my clients realize their true beauty and wholeness because of, not in spite of, their identities. I know that now, more than ever, mental health is needed. I think my knowledge around marginalized communities, like LGBTQ+, kink, polyamory and chronic illness, give me valuable insight. My client doesn't need to feel like they're educating me on their identity, but rather, they feel seen and supported by someone who "gets it."

What to Expect (first 1–2 sessions)

In our first session, we get to know each other!

It can be strange to open up to a complete stranger all your deepest, darkest secrets and fears. We focus on establishing a safe connection. We establish boundaries and expectations. We schedule regular appointments to ensure you have a space just for you.

In our second session, we collaborate to make a plan:

What concerns do you want to tackle first?

How have you coped so far?

Who and what are your supports?

Resources I often share with clients.

Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit is one of the most important steps in starting therapy. For men, this process can sometimes feel particularly challenging—especially if you’re looking specifically for a male therapist. Whether you’re seeking support for mental health, relationship challenges, or navigating identity, having a therapist who understands your unique perspective can make a significant difference.

Offering unwavering support for trans kids begins with the most fundamental expression of care: telling them you love them unconditionally. For parents wondering, ā€œHow can I support my trans child?ā€ reassuring your child of your love is essential.

When a child comes out as trans, they often experience a range of emotions, including fear, uncertainty, and anxiety about how their family will react. For many, this journey comes with concerns about whether they will be accepted and supported. By telling your child, ā€œI love you for who you are,ā€ you provide the emotional foundation they need to feel secure and valued as they explore their identity.

LGBTQ-affirming therapy offers a safe, inclusive space for individuals to explore their identities, process emotional challenges, and build resilience. For gay men, therapy can be a transformative experience, addressing unique pressures such as navigating societal stigma, managing relationships, and coping with mental health challenges like depression. By working with a therapist for gay men, clients can feel validated and supported in their journey toward self-acceptance.

Understanding gender identity can feel like a journey into a world full of rich and diverse experiences. At its heart, gender identity is about who you know yourself to be, beyond just the labels society might put on you. It’s a deeply personal part of who we are, and expressing it can be a powerful way to connect with yourself and the world around you.
