Introduction
Hi, I'm Sean (he/him). At Arrive Therapy, my mission is to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for individuals, couples, families, and social groups. I am deeply committed to supporting the LGBTQIA community and bring over a decade of social work experience to our sessions. My extensive clinical knowledge and passion for helping others are the foundations of the successful progress we can achieve together.
About me
I am a cisgender gay man. I grew up in Downingtown and now reside in Montgomery County with my husband and our two cats. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, photography, walking, listening to music, attending festivals, spending time with friends, watching movies, and appreciating nature and animals. During my youth, I participated in social groups at The Main Line Youth Alliance, which provided me with early positive support. These formative experiences have inspired my dedication to working with Arrive Therapy.
Education
I earned my Master of Social Work from Temple University in August 2024, completing my final-year practicum at Arrive Therapy. Prior to this, I graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a degree in Psychology. With over a decade of social work experience, including five years in family-based therapy, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my practice. Additionally, I have significant practicum experience facilitating intensive outpatient group sessions for adults with substance use and mental health concerns.
What it’s like to see me as a therapist
Therapy with me is a personalized and collaborative experience. My sessions provide an affirming, safe environment where your identity is both respected and celebrated. We will focus on understanding your unique experiences and challenges, creating a non-judgmental space to explore issues related to gender, sexuality, relationships, and mental health. Utilizing an empathetic approach tailored to your specific needs, we will build a therapeutic alliance founded on trust, acceptance, and validation. This inclusive and culturally competent setting aims to empower you, fostering personal growth, self-acceptance, and overall well-being. Additionally, I incorporate humor, positivity, and engaging activities like games and puzzles to enhance our sessions.
