Celebrating 25 years!

Held each year during the week of the historic Penn Relays, Philly Black Pride brings together over 3,000 people for a weekend long celebration and community building.

A host of citywide events center on the idea of “partying with a purpose,” uplifting the community while highlighting available services, including physical- and mental-health resources.

Events include Society Lights Opening, Poetry Slam, Black Joy Summit, POSSE Ball, and more!

Black Pride events play a crucial role in offering a safe and inclusive environment for queer people of color to celebrate their intersecting identities and tackle issues unique to their experiences.

Black Pride events serve as a vital oasis, providing a nurturing environment where Black queer and transgender individuals can authentically embrace every facet of their identity without compromise. Within these affirmative spaces, they find solace, validation, and the empowering freedom to unapologetically celebrate the richness of their lived experiences at the crossroads of Blackness and queerness. Black Pride offers a sanctuary where intersectional identities are not merely tolerated but cherished, uplifted, and celebrated in all their resplendent glory.
