Main Line Health Offers an IOP for Queer People!

Sexuality and Gender Expansive (SAGE) Intensive Outpatient Group

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

9:30am – 12:30pm

Mirmont Outpatient Center–Broomall: 600 Abbott Drive Broomall, PA 19008

Led by Clinical Social Worker, Sarah Aked, MSW, Mirmont is now enrolling for a new mental health intensive outpatient group. SAGE is open to any adult who identifies as LGBTQ+ and lives with a primary mental health diagnosis. This group will include mental health psychoeducation, DBT-informed therapy, mindfulness and a culturally responsive and strengths-based approach.

SAGE offers a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can:

  • Explore how their LGBTQ+ identity intersects with their mental health recovery.

  • Process feelings related to acceptance, chosen family, relationships and emotional well-being.

  • Build resiliency through communication and emotional regulation skills.

  • Process life events and learn tools for self-regulation.

  • Learn to participate in life again.

  • Find camaraderie and support from people with similar experiences.

Main Line Health believes that every person deserves to feel safe in the facility where they are receiving care. Our team is committed to fostering an equitable and culturally responsive environment so that all LGBTQ+ patients feel welcomed and receive the highest quality mental health care.

Most insurances accepted, including Medicaid. When making referrals, please keep in mind that this group is not designed to be a support group; rather, it will explore how mental health is specific to the LGBTQ+ population.

All group members:

  • Are adults (age 18+) who are out of high school and live with a primary mental health diagnosis

  • Must be clinically appropriate for a mental health intensive outpatient program level of care

  • Can be referred as a step-down from a partial hospitalization program, from a Mirmont Outpatient Center intensive outpatient program, or by calling central intake for an assessment
