This peer support group provides a welcoming environment specifically for LGBTQ+ community members who are exploring their relationship with substances, seeking to cut back, or working toward recovery. We recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals face unique stressors—including discrimination, minority stress, and navigating identity—that can complicate substance use patterns.

Our focus includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cannabis/marijuana use and dependency

  • Alcohol use

  • Other substances

  • Poly-substance use

Meet Sean O, Group Leader

Many participants find this group especially helpful for addressing marijuana use, which can become a coping mechanism for managing anxiety, depression, or the challenges of living as an LGBTQ+ person. We create space to discuss the nuanced relationship many of us have with cannabis—recognizing both its role in our lives and the ways it may be holding us back.
