LGBTQIA+ community
This peer support group provides a welcoming environment specifically for LGBTQ+ community members who are exploring their relationship with substances, seeking to cut back, or working toward recovery. We recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals face unique stressorsāincluding discrimination, minority stress, and navigating identityāthat can complicate substance use patterns.
Our focus includes, but is not limited to:
Cannabis/marijuana use and dependency
Alcohol use
Other substances
Poly-substance use
Many participants find this group especially helpful for addressing marijuana use, which can become a coping mechanism for managing anxiety, depression, or the challenges of living as an LGBTQ+ person. We create space to discuss the nuanced relationship many of us have with cannabisārecognizing both its role in our lives and the ways it may be holding us back.
What to expect:
Judgment-free sharing and mutual support
Understanding facilitators familiar with LGBTQ+ experiences
Discussion of harm reduction, moderation, and abstinence approaches
Exploration of healthier coping strategies
Connection with others who truly understand
Whether you're questioning your use, actively trying to change your habits, or seeking support in maintaining recovery, you'll find understanding peers here. All identities within the LGBTQ+ spectrum are welcome, and confidentiality is maintained.
No prerequisites requiredājust bring your authentic self and willingness to explore positive change.
