We won!

Court sides with West Virginia transgender teen who was banned from playing school sports.

Get ready to cheer because we're celebrating a big win: trans rights in sports! It's time to kick off our sneakers and do a victory dance because everyone deserves a fair shot at playing the game they love, regardless of gender identity.

In a tremendous victory for trans West Virginians, and the freedom of all trans and nonbinary youth to play as who they are, the U.S. court ruled that a trans middle-school athlete can compete in her school's girls' track and cross-country team. U.S. Circuit Judge Toby Heytens, an appointee of Democratic President Joe Biden, said requiring Pepper-Jackson, a trans middle-schooler who has publicly identified as transgender for around five years and takes puberty-blocking medication, to compete on boys' teams was "no real choice at all" and would "directly contradict the treatment protocols for gender dysphoria."

There's still work to be done, barriers to be broken, and records to be set.

Let's face it, sports are at their best when they're inclusive, diverse, and downright fun. So let's raise a glass (or a water bottle) to a future where every athlete, regardless of gender identity and expression, can lace up their cleats and play their hearts out.

As we celebrate this victory, let's also remember that the game isn't over yet. There's still work to be done, barriers to be broken, and records to be set. But with passion, perseverance, and a little bit of team spirit, we can keep moving forward and make sports a more inclusive and welcoming space for all.

So here's to the athletes, the advocates, and everyone who's part of this winning team. Together, we're unstoppable!

How can you join the winning team? It's simple! Start by spreading the word and sharing the love for trans athletes in your community. Cheer them on, show your support, and let them know that you've got their back, on and off the field.

You can also get involved with organizations and initiatives that are working to promote trans rights in sports. Whether it's volunteering, donating, or lending your voice to the cause, every bit counts.
